School feeding fund: “My ministry is not linked to it” – Minister

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq has made a clarification on the N2.67bn school feeding money which was found in a private account. According to her, the money is not linked to her ministry. Sadiya Farouq in a statement released by her special assistant on media and publicity Nneka Ikem Anibeze, said the school feeding in question is different from the home grown school feeding programme which is one of the humanitarian ministry’s social investment programmes (SIP). The Minister who further insisted that the other cases of fraud mentioned by the ICPC has nothing to do with her ministry, called on the general public to disregard the false reports being linked to the ministry as it is not in anyway involved in the Federal Government Colleges School Feeding. Covid-19: Nigeria records 136 new cases

Nigeria has recorded 136 new COVID-19 cases as reported by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). NCDC said the new cases were reported in 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in a tweet posted on their page. Out of the new cases, Lagos recorded 71 cases, followed by Rivers with 23 infections and Plateau with 12 cases. Others include Adamawa and Oyo – 6, Kaduna – 5, Abia and FCT – 3, Katsina and Kwara – 2, Bauchi, Borno, and Edo each having one. As at Monday, September 28, Nigeria has 58,460 confirmed cases of the viral disease. 49,895 patients have recovered from the virus while 1,111 people have died. Olamilekan Agbeleshe, known as Laycon has emerged winner of the Big Brother Naija Season 5, tagged BBNaija Lockdown. The upcoming musician beat 19 other housemates to be crowned the winner of this year’s reality television show. He won by clinching about 60% of the total votes followed by Dorathy who had about 21.85% of the votes, Nengi with 15.03%, Neo and Vee with 1.94 and 1.18% respectively. Congratulations Laycon.
