Breaking: Burundi President, Perre Nkurunziza dies of heart attack

The Government of Burundi has announced the death of their president, Pierre Nkurunziza today, Tuesday, June 9.

He was in power for 15 years and had planned to hand over to another government in August 2020 before his demise.

His death was announced in a statement which said that President Nkurunziza died at Karusi hospital, according to reports from Aljazeera.

The statement which was posted on twitter disclosed that the president was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, June 6, after feeling unwell but he suffered a heart attack on Monday, June 8, and efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
