FG advises Nigerians to worship at home amid lockdown ease

The Federal government has made some clarification regarding lifting of ban on religious gatherings.

Sani Aliyu, the national coordinator of the presidential task force on COVID-19 who spoke at the daily briefing on Tuesday said it is safer for people to worship at home in spite of relaxation of the ban on religious gatherings.

According to Aliyu, Coronavirus might easily spread in religious centres due to the nature of worship centres across the country.

He said;

“The federal government decided to reopen worship centres under specific guidelines but if you can worship at home, please do so because it is safer to worship at home. It is better to stay at home and worship than to go to a place of worship.

“Places of worship that do not comply with required measures should not be allowed to operate. State authorities should not allow such churches or mosques to operate.”
